Important Reminders

  1. Continue to use your existing credit card until your new card arrives — your balance and all BMW Reward Points will automatically transfer.
  2. Watch the mail for your new credit card to arrive and when it does, start using it right away.
  3. Your payment address will change so you'll need to udpate any existing payments or re-enroll in automatic payments.
  4. Update recurring billers with your new credit card account number and expiration date.

General Information

We are updating and enhancing our credit card program and we’re excited about the new features and benefits we have made to the BMW Family of Cards. With these changes we will be able to continue offering valuable and competitive credit card products.
Elan Financial Services is the new creditor and issuer of the new BMW Mastercard® credit card program.
Your new credit card will arrive in the mail by mid-February 2020.
Your new credit card will arrive in the mail with simple activation instructions. Log in or call to activate and you can start using it right away.
No, the transition to your new credit card will not impact your credit history or score.
Your old credit card will be de-activated and no longer work after February 20, 2020.

Account Changes

Yes, you will receive a new account number and expiration date for your credit card. If you make recurring payments from your credit card, remember to contact the businesses and give them your new account number.

All balances will transfer to your new account automatically in February 2020. The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for any current balances will remain at your current terms and conditions.

Your current promotional and introductory APRs will be honored. After your promotional or introductory APRs expire, any existing balances will remain at your current terms and conditions.

For APRs which apply to purchases, balance transfers and cash advances made on your new credit card, please refer to the Change in Terms notification letter dated December 31, 2019.

Any balance or pending transaction(s) will automatically be transferred to your new account and viewable online starting on February 26, 2020 and on your first statement with your new account number.

Yes. You will have the same credit availability on your new credit card. When your new card arrives, it will state your credit availability, but this is not a preset limit,1 which might be a new feature for some accounts.

Current BMW Card Accounts will be transitioning to the BMW World Mastercard® that has no preset limit. This means that transactions on your new card may be authorized above the amount shown on your card mailer.

Current BMW Signature Card and BMW Ultimate Card Accounts will be transitioning to the BMW Precision World Elite Mastercard® and will continue to have no preset spend limit on their new account.

Authorized users will receive their credit card(s) at the same time as the primary cardholders along with activation instructions by mid-February 2020. If you have more than 2 authorized users, the additional cards will come within the next two days following the initial card mailing.
Yes. After you receive your card in the mail, you will be able to activate your card, make payments, redeem rewards and more at our new online account servicing website, mybmwcreditcard.com or by downloading the new BMW Family of Cards Mobile App.

Please note: you’ll have to set up a new log in and password.

Yes, and for the better! We have added more ways to earn BMW Reward Points by adding new categories or increasing the rewards you earn on current categories.

You will receive specific details along with BMW Rewards Program Rules in the mail by mid-February.

Your new BMW Card or BMW Precision Card will feature a wide range of great benefits, including:

Your BMW Reward Points will be automatically transferred to your new Rewards account and redeemable online starting on February 26th, 2020. You will have the same amount of points after the transition as were on your account before.

You will get 25% more value when you redeem your points for a BMW Rewards Card that can be used for BMW service, accessories, lease end costs and more. For example, 20,000 points will be worth $250 at BMW Centers.

You will also be able to redeem points for travel, cash back (in the form of a statement credit) and toward your monthly BMW vehicle payment. 20,000 points = $200 value.

Current BMW Ultimate Card cardholders:

  • Travel redemption value will move from $75 to $50 per 5,000 points redeemed.
  • Additional lease miles will move from $87.50 to $62.50 per 5,000 points redeemed.
  • Lease Excess Wear & Tear will move from $75 to $62.50 per 5,000 points redeemed.

Current BMW Visa Signature Card cardholders:

  • Additional lease miles will move from $75 to $62.50 per 5,000 points redeemed.
  • Lease Excess Wear & Tear will move from $75 to $62.50 per 5,000 points redeemed.

Your current BMW Reward Points will be available for redemptions until February 19, 2020. After that, your BMW Reward Points will transfer to your new BMW Mastercard Account and be available to redeem online or over the phone.

Note: Between February 19 – 25th you will not be able to redeem points while the transition is occurring.

Once you receive your new card in the mail, set up your new online account at mybmwcreditcard.com. After you log in, go to the Rewards Center tab to see your new BMW Rewards Program Rules.

Your payment due date may change. If you wish to select a new payment due date, you may contact Cardmember Service once you receive your first statement.

No, if your credit card account is currently enrolled in an auto pay program, any payments scheduled to occur after February 19, 2020 will be cancelled and cannot automatically be applied to your new account. You will receive a letter with information on how to enroll in automatic payments for your new Account.
Yes. Simply contact companies that bill you on a regular basis (such as phone, cable, gym memberships and insurance) to set up automatic, recurring payments. It's a great way to add convenience and gain peace of mind. And remember, you will earn BMW Reward Points on those purchases.
Like the existing BMW Family of Cards program, if your balance exceeds your Revolve Limit we will add the amount of the balance over your Revolve Limit, to your Minimum Payment amount due. This will result in an increase to your minimum payment due.
To access older BMW credit card statements, call the number on the back of your card. Your statement(s) will be mailed or faxed (upon request) to you within 10 business days. Statements will be available for two years post conversion. As of February 21, 2022, cardmembers will no longer be able to request copies of statements for the old BMW Family of Cards program.

Yes. Transactions are available online going back 12 months from the current date.

Once you receive your card in the mail, log in to your online account at mybmwcreditcard.com. Go to the “My Account” tab, select “Download Transactions”. Select the format and date range you prefer and click “Download”.
